Olufunsho Alexandre Olumuyiwa Ajagbonna (King Fajag): A Pillar of Nigerian Event
Management and Entertainment
From church choirs to fashion ateliers, from backstage at the legendary Headies
Awards to the global stage of his own prestigious award shows, Olufunsho Ajagbonna
commonly called King Fajag has spent a lifetime mastering the art of impact. For over
15 years, his journey is a seamless tapestry woven from music, design, and the
high-stakes orchestration of moments that define culture and celebrate excellence.
A native of Egbe in Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State, his journey is a
testament to versatility, strategic vision, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
King Fajag’s professional foundation was laid with an academic grounding in Public
Administration from Kwara State Polytechnic. This discipline would later inform the
meticulous organizational framework behind his large-scale ventures. His artistic
journey, however, began in the realm of music, serving within the church, before he
explored the creative world of fashion design. These early experiences honed his
understanding of performance, aesthetics, and audience engagement skills that would
become the bedrock of his future empire.
His vision is institutionalized through FDN Projects, the premier events and
entertainment company he founded and leads as CEO and Creative Director. Here,
concept meets enduring legacy. For over a decade, FDN Projects has been the engine
behind a distinguished portfolio of initiatives that have become fixtures in Africa’s
landscape of recognition and social impact. These cornerstone ventures include:
1. The African Iconic Women Recognition Awards: A now-iconic platform,
celebrated for over fifteen years, that honours high-achieving women shaping
the continent’s future.
2. The Democracy Heroes Award: An esteemed annual recognition that for over a
decade has lauded both men and women for their significant contributions to
democratic governance and societal development.
3. Face of Democracy Nigeria: A pioneering brain-and-beauty pageant that has, for
years, redefined the genre by uniquely combining intellect, poise, and national
pride.
4. The FDN Foundation: The long-standing philanthropic arm of his enterprise,
consistently dedicated to supporting education by providing essential materials
to school children, a testament to his deep-rooted commitment to social impact.
Through these enduring platforms, King Fajag has not only created events but has
cultivated lasting institutions that continue to celebrate excellence and drive progress.
King Fajag has successfully expanded the reach and international visibility of these
brands, cementing FDN’s status as a pan-African events powerhouse.
Beyond event management, his creative pulse beats at Fajag Concept, a distinguished
creative house renowned for crafting unique, non-everyday sartorial designs. This
venture outfits top politicians and industry leaders, blending avant-garde aesthetics with
executive elegance and further establishing his influence across sectors.
His expertise and leadership have earned him the respected position of President of the
Association of Beauty Pageant and Fashion Exhibition Organisers of Nigeria
(ABPFEON), where he guides and shapes the industry’s standards and growth.
King Fajag’s pedigree in event organization is rooted in a rich history of hands-on
experience. In the early 2000s, he was an integral part of the partnership team with
Smooth Promotions, owners of HipTV and organizers of the revered Headies Awards.
His contributions were pivotal in executing one of the most successful and widely
acclaimed Headies Nomination parties in Abuja, a landmark event that showcased his
early prowess in managing high-profile entertainment gatherings.
Today, when the conversation turns to top-tier event organizers in Nigeria, the name that
rings a bell is Olufunsho Ajagbonna, a.k.a King Fajag. He stands as a visionary leader, a
creative director, and a strategic architect of experiences, whose work continues to
redefine the African events landscape, celebrate excellence, and inspire a new
generation of professionals.
